Monte Del Fra is located in the village of Custoza on the morainic hills, less than 20 km from Verona and 15 km from Lake Garda, the largest in Italy.
The current award winning winery was established in 1958 by the Bonomo family but records as far back as 1492 show the winery was once owned by monks. The winemakers carefully select the land where vineyards are to be planted and agronomic practices are meticulously implemented. The vineyards are planted in Cusotza, Bardolino and Lugana using the classic ‘pergola’ system in the Valpolicella Classica.
Boasting over 140 hectares of vineyards, its history is linked to the grand crus such as Cà del Magro, il vigneto Colombara, Grottino, Staffalo, Monte Godi, Monte Fitti, Mascarpine, Bagolina, Pezzarara and Monte del Fra. Monte del Fra has become known as an avant-garde winery famed for producing high-quality grapes.
Monte Del Fra continues to produce prestigious bottles by the controlled management of raw materials and the implementation of winemaking practices to preserve the characteristics of the grapes.
