Varietals include; Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Picolit, Chardonnay
Marco Felluga, a native of the Italian/Slovenian border region Collio Goriziano, purchased the Russiz Superiore estate in 1967.
The winery spans locations across the Collio DOC. Marco Felluga in Gradisca d’Isonzo and Russiz Superiore in Capriva del Friuli. The vineyards of the Marco Felluga winery are scattered across four different villages: Farra, San Floriano, Oslavia and Cormòns.
The Adriatic Sea, just 30 km away, keeps the climate mild and the protection of the Julian Alps provides ideal conditions for viticulture, with warm days and cool nights in spring followed by mild summers.
The Felluga family’s history with wine dates back to the 1800s, however, when Roberto Felluga’s great-great-grandfather started a business buying and selling wines. The family remains at the helm today, with the winery now managed by Marco’s son, Roberto. Roberto’s daughter, Ilaria, is studying enology and may steer the family business into the sixth generation.
The sustainable organic vineyard of Marco Felluga produces the quintessential, elegant Pinot Grigio, alongside other whites, blends and a selection of reds. The prized Mongris Pinot Grigio is a fresh crisp ‘people pleaser’ and the Just Molamatta is an indigenous blend of easy drinking and affordable unique Bianco. The Russiz Superiore is a mind-blowing, complex and opulent premier cru Pinot Grigio that is guaranteed to supercharge your dining experience.
Almost all wines are white indigenous and international grapes, organically farmed and produced mostly in stainless steel to ensure freshness and purity. Some wines are partially oak aged and are also left on the lees for up to eight months or more to add richness and complexity.
